Of course! TMS isn't just for pre-meds. Whether you're interested in shadowing, passionate about helping others, or simply curious about the world of medicine, there's a place for you here. The medical world isn't just doctors; it's a whole team working together, from nurses to researchers to community advocates. It's the same way with TMS. There's a world of opportunities awaiting you when you join TMS. From volunteering at nursing homes to getting published in a medical journal, there's something for you here. So don't wait! We hold GAs throughout the year to announce events such as Aid The Cause and opportunities such as Junior Coordinators (JCODs). That being said, TMS does not have a fixed meeting schedule for all participants. However, through our committees, students have the ability to consistently participate with TMS.

We have 6 events throughout the year: - Committee Carnival: TMS Committees hold a mini field-day-esque showcase of their activities for the upcoming school year! - Dinner With Doctors: Hosted by the Shadows Committee, students have dinner with doctors in various medical fields, providing opportunities to learn and ask questions about the world of medicine! - Aid The Cause: Our flagship event, we host a TAMS-wide talent show where students can watch their peers perform and donate money for a medically-related cause -- all while enjoying good food and fun! - Stethoscope Launch party: The hard work of the Stethoscope Committee is shown during the Stethoscope Launch Party where publishers and editors come together to celebrate their work! - Shear Kindness: Partnering with Subaru, we hold a hair donation drive where hair is donated to Children With Hair Loss© and Matter of Trust©! - Spring Fling: Held by the newly-chosen board, we host a field day event where students get to wind down and celebrate the past year!

Once per semester, we will launch committee applications. During both semesters, students will have the ability to propose a new committee to TMS so that it can be start up the next semester, and during the spring semester, students are able to apply for committee head positions of existing committees. However, if you have idea outside of these time periods, email tmsexecs@gmail.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

We do! Through our educational committees such as Shadows, Biomedical Engineering, and Women in Medicine, students are given the opportunity to actively learn and participate in the medical world. Through our volunteering committees such as Denton Nursing Home, Outreach, and TAMS Alzheimer's Care, students become active members of the community, through teaching and assistance.

Yes! Throughout the year, students will have the opportunity to apply to be Junior Coordinators (JCODs), juniors that work along with the TMS board to coordinate events! Our two current JCOD opportunities are for Aid The Cause and the Stethoscope Journal. Outside of JCODs, in the fall semester, juniors can propose ideas for committees that can be implemented in the spring semester.
